About The Council

Winkleigh Parish Council meets every 4th Wenesday of the month, with the general exception of August and December. There will be occasions, of course, when they will meet in those months as well as having additional meetings during the year, as necessary. The public are welcome at these meetings and their attendance encouraged.

The meetings commence at 7.30pm and are usually held in the Community Centre with the odd occasion when the Village Hall is used, if large numbers of parishioners are expected to attend.

The Council would ask that, to makes its work more efficient, any issues, problems or information you wish to communicate with them is sent to clerk, or one of the members, a week before the next scheduled meeting. Of course, there are always times when the situation is urgent or at the last minute, however there is time on the agenda for the public to speak at each meeting.

The details of the members of the Parish Council, with contact details, can be found on the list of members page on this website, as well as on the Parish Council notice boards. These are located in the village square, alongside the Kings Arms, beside the phone box, and also in Hollocombe.

Winkleigh also has a Parish Plan as a result of full consultation with the parish, and this has been accepted by Torridge District Council. On the left hand side of the web page, a list of current Parish Council members and all previous minutes can be accessed.

Currently there is a consultant, chosen in consultation with the Parish Council, working on a development brief for the Airfield.
